Rachel

Rachel’s earliest experiences with yoga began in childhood. Some of her fondest memories include roaring in Lion Pose with the Little Yogis series, and learning how to balance in Crow Pose alongside her mum and sister. Yoga was something familiar and shared, long before it became a regular practice. After a period away, Rachel returned to yoga and has been practicing consistently for the past nine years, exploring a range of different styles along the way.

About two and a half years ago, she began practicing with Sita at Mysore Breathing Room. When Rachel first encountered Ashtanga, the structure of the practice immediately made sense to her. It felt clear, purposeful, and exactly what her body was asking for. Over time, the practice has become much more than that. Through the Mysore method, she has learned to truly focus on the breath, to take responsibility for guiding her own practice, and to move with greater awareness.

As her relationship with Ashtanga has deepened, the practice has continually challenged her—both physically and mentally—encouraging her to go further and become stronger than she once believed possible. This ongoing experience continues to shape how she approaches yoga: with curiosity, honesty, and respect for the process.
