Ginger
Ginger embodies the heart of the Mysore Ashtanga method—meeting each practitioner exactly where they are, with clarity, patience, and care. A devoted mother of two lovely young daughters, she maintains a strong and consistent weekly sādhana at Mysore Breathing Room Shala, alongside her dedicated assistantship with Teacher Sita over the past three years.
With more than a decade of practice under experienced Ashtanga teachers across different countries, Ginger has cultivated a solid, fluid, and deeply embodied practice. Her mindful engagement is evident in every āsana, whether in Primary, Intermediate, or Advanced series, and her practice supports her daily life with steadiness, resilience, and calm both on and off the mat.
Originally from China, Ginger relocated to Singapore with her family three years ago. Balancing motherhood and yoga has become an essential anchor in her life. She began with Hatha yoga after the birth of her second child and later discovered Ashtanga—an encounter that shaped her path ever since. Guided by teachers such as Jason Chow, Tarik Thami, and now Sita, Ginger lives by the mantra: “Breathe before moving, feel before thinking.” Rooted in self-acceptance and community, she is deeply grateful for the support she has received and is committed to sharing that same warmth forward.
