Miyuki
Miyuki is a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner and teacher with over eleven years of personal practice. For the past three years, she has been a committed student of Mysore Breathing Room, maintaining a six‑day‑a‑week Mysore practice while continuing her assistanceship under teacher Sita. Through the Mysore method, Miyuki has personally experienced the deeply transformative nature of Ashtanga yoga—a practice that has touched thousands of students worldwide—and her teaching is driven by a genuine passion for sharing this experience with others.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Miyuki began her yoga journey in 2007 and was later drawn to Ashtanga yoga in 2014, studying under the influence of her teachers and their teachers, senior Ashtanga practitioners Chuck Miller and Nancy Gilgoff. Their teachings shaped not only her approach to practice, but also her understanding of life, compassion, and self‑inquiry.
Over time, Miyuki’s focus has shifted from physical achievement to a deeper awareness of body and mind. Through injuries and self‑study, she continues to explore functional movement, core stability, and the body–mind connection. She teaches with care, curiosity, and humility, offering thoughtful guidance to help students understand and use their bodies with greater awareness.
Outside the shala, Miyuki enjoys Hula dance and weekend golf, embracing balance both on and off the mat.
