Exploring Yoga, Qigong, and Traditional Chinese Medicine: Harness prana with powerful eastern practices
“After 6 years away from Seoul, my Ashtanga Yoga journey led me from Mysore through India, East Asia, and Europe. Practicing daily with communities everywhere, I discovered something troubling as a yoga practitioner, TCM doctor and acupuncture specialist treating countless injured yoga practitioners.
Many chase external achievements - how high one clears the ground in jumping back and through and transitions, how “beautiful” the asanas look, how many asanas they receive. This pulls the focus away from what matters: internal - breath - vinyasa, and mindful counting. Like the Korean concept of “수행” (spiritual cultivation), true always practice flows inward.
The Huangdi Neijing teaches: “氣通卽不痛, 氣不通卽痛” - “When Qi flows freely, there is no pain; when blocked, pain arises.” Korean is 기,” Indian is prana, and breath are one unified stream that must never get stagnated.
When breath gets trapped in external pursuits, it creates tension, birthing injuries that’s difficult to heal once it occured.
True practice must be #oft and relaxed with free breathing, like morning mist over Jeju’s mountains. I’ll share ancient muscle relaxation techniques through soft breathing - preventive medicine honoring Korean “단전호흡” and pranayama traditions.
Learn time-tested methods to relieve pain in neck, back, knees, shoulders, and wrists - blending Eastern wisdoms with practical healing.”
